After deciding on the height you will need to decide on what materials would be best suited for your project. There are two different types of materials that can be used, first is Pressure Treated, and the other is Cedar.

Once you have decided on what material to use, then you need to decide the type of post. There are three options to select from, either 4x4, 6x6 posts or the Post Master. Generally 4x4 posts are used in residential areas although 6x6 posts is also a choice, commonly used in commercial areas. The Post Master is a steel post that provides strength and can withstand high winds, heavy rain, and prevents rotting and warping. Board on Board Fence

The Board on Board style offers complete privacy by installing one board on top of the other, therefore leaving no spaces or gaps in between. Ideal for backyard pools and anywhere that privacy is a must. This style is great for those who require set boundaries whether it's enclosing household pets or concerns you may have for small children. By installing this particular type of fencing, you are protecting and keeping them safe in the comforts of your own backyard.

Shadow Board Fence

Shadow Board provides a classic aesthetic and solid structure with a unique peek a boo diagonal view. Also referred to as "The Good Neighbour Fence," it provides semi privacy to any property. These fences are visually similar on both sides providing a consistent appearance no matter what side of the fence you're on. Because of the creative way these boards are positioned, the design provides an airy openness and allows filtered natural light to seep through the 3 1/2 inch gap, that is covered with an alternate board on the other side of the fence.

Single Board Fence

Single board is considered more simplified, because boards are placed side by side and spaced out about 1/4" apart, to be able to provide a higher level of privacy. This fence provides a boundary definition, is really attractive, and is fairly easy to maintain. Single board is commonly used, and is a great choice when trying to keep an original look in any backyard layout, design and decor.

Horizontal Board Fence

Boards are installed horizontally instead of vertically, creating a more modern look. Horizontal fences can be spaced to your own specification or have different sized boards installed, depending on what look you are trying to achieve. This very unique and fairly new concept is not only beautiful but is a wonderful choice for those who prefer something more innovative.

Lattice Fence
